I have been an advertising and travel writer for the past seven years, working on many corporate projects and press campaigns, and travelling to lots of really cool places too

A while back a ‘greatest hits’ collection of my poems was released, called The Red Book. More recently, a chapbook of new poems was published by the erbacce press – titled drop anchor

When I was 17 I launched haiku_txt – one of the first projects in Britain to send poetry by txt to subscribers’ mobile phones

I won the Kent Faber and Faber/Ottakars poetry competition two years in a row (1997-1998) and have been short listed for a few more, including the Canterbury Poet of the Year Award in 2007

My first poems were published in 1996 and now more than 100 have appeared in print. I’ve been lucky enough to feature in some of the UK’s best small-press magazines such as iota, Chroma, Pulsar, South, Neon Highway and many more besides

I am a poet and filmmaker working on super 8 and pixelvision cameras, and ‘found’ cine film. I publish my poems in little books and magazines, and I show my hand-crafted movies at film festivals, screening nights and at galleries, universities and cinemas around the UK and Europe

arrowsMy work and achievements...

I have been making films since I was 12, but only plucked-up the courage to show them in public a couple of years ago

Since then they have been screened at lots of really great festivals, including the London Independent Film Festival, Lancashire Film Festival, Canterbury Festival, Euroshorts, Kinofilm and the Salford Film Festival

Last year my super 8 films were also picked-up by the BBC for their Big Screen project – showing them on huge outdoor screens all over the UK

‘Prospect’ is the name of an ongoing art project that I work on with my best mate, muse and long-time collaborator, Jennifer Harris. It focuses on the unique landscapes of Dungeness, including Derek Jarman’s Prospect Cottage. Funded by the Arts Council England, we held our first exhibition in 2006, and now have a large collection of poems, photos and cine films
